Halloween is the perfect time to read the incredible works of Emily Carroll, my absolute favorite horror cartoonist and storyteller. You can read many of her worksfree on her website!
I cannot over-recommend Carroll’s short story collection Through the Woods, which is one of the best works of fiction (horror or otherwise) I’ve ever read. If you can, get a copy from your local library or bookstore!
Got to go, it’s Halloween and I’m spending my evening sitting in the dark, drinking hot chocolate, re-reading these spooky comics while the wind rattles at the windows.
Every October I give these stories a re-read. And recently Carroll published a new graphic novel, A Guest In The House, which I am very much looking forward to getting a copy of!
“cis men when they have a two inch dick *sad face*”
Correction, intersex men… who statistically are lucky to not have been subjected to a slew of childhood surgeries including penectomy.
Going through school with experiences of having other boys compare your penis to a second belly button. Losing every disagreement with your peers that know, not on the value of your words but with a quip at your expense and a chorus of laughter. And the rest of your life biting your tongue because speaking in your own defence when people use a body like yours as an accusation or as a joke, means exposing yourself to cruelty.
You can express your love for your own body without treading on the trauma of intersex men.
This kind of behaviour is so common, and the most common experience in speaking up and saying “hey, I have micropenis, please don’t speak like that about people like me” is that they round on you and increase in their cruelty for daring to question their fun.
Unfortunately this isn’t remotely the first time I’ve heard people assert or infer that a small penis is evidence of paedophilia, or that (somehow even more disgustingly) that “a small penis is designed to have sex with children.”
Socially, there is a near blank-cheque for people to slander and abuse people with micropenises.
Girl I do no know how to explain that the vast majority of adults used to be children.
The tags are all great here but this one made me look at it for a couple seconds. I don’t recall jesus being born an adult im very certain he was also a baby at some point
there’s a very popular holiday about it, in fact
well lads we have it now
only one (1) figure through all of history can be sexualized:
Athena.
I think it’s a reference to the babies Jesus in medieval art that look like middle aged men for theological reasons?
